July 2019 Meeting Notes
In lieu of our regular meeting this month, our support group had an old fashioned July 4th cookout of hamburgers and hotdogs including homemade ice cream. We invited family or friends to attend with us. Thirty people came to enjoy the evening. At the close of our meeting we had a balloon release. As we released our balloons to heaven we all said in unison, “I love you” to our child. The meeting went so well we have decided to make it an annual event. To be in the company of other grieving parents is so comforting for me.
I would like to share with you a poem I found on Facebook this week:
The mention of my child’s name
May bring tears to my eyes.
But it never fails to bring
Music to my ears.
If you are really my friend,
Let me hear the beautiful music of her name.
It soothes my broken heart
And sings to my soul.
